About the Club

Golden Nordic Ski Club is a registered non-profit society in British Columbia, operating Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre. We are a volunteer-run organization dedicated to promoting cross-country skiing and outdoor recreation in the Golden area.

Website Use

You may use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website

  • Reproduce, distribute, or modify website content without permission

  • Use automated tools to access the website (bots, scrapers)

Trail Use and Facility Rules

By using Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre trails and facilities, you agree to:

  • Purchase a valid day pass or hold a current membership

  • Follow posted trail etiquette and signage

  • Yield appropriately to other trail users

  • Stay on designated trails

  • Respect wildlife and natural surroundings

  • Pack out all garbage

  • Keep dogs on leash where permitted (or observe dog-free zones)

  • Not ski under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • Report any hazards or injuries to staff

We reserve the right to revoke trail access for anyone who violates these rules or behaves in a manner that endangers others.

Assumption of Risk

Cross-country skiing, biathlon, and related winter activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Changing weather and trail conditions

  • Variations in terrain, including hills, curves, and obstacles

  • Collisions with trees, fences, equipment, or other skiers

  • Equipment failure

  • Physical exertion and related health risks

  • Wildlife encounters

  • Getting lost or stranded

By using our trails and facilities, you acknowledge these risks and assume full responsibility for your own safety. You agree to ski within your ability level and to use appropriate equipment.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Golden Nordic Ski Club, its directors, officers, volunteers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any injury, death, loss, or damage arising from your use of our trails, facilities, programs, or website.

This limitation applies whether the claim is based on negligence, breach of contract, or any other legal theory, except where such limitations are prohibited by law.

Equipment Rentals

When renting equipment from Golden Nordic Ski Club:

  • You are responsible for inspecting equipment before use

  • Report any damage or defects immediately

  • Return equipment by the agreed time and in the same condition

  • You may be charged for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment

  • Rental equipment may not be removed from Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre

Memberships and Passes

Day passes and memberships are:

  • Non-transferable (unless otherwise specified)

  • Non-refundable, except at our discretion

  • Valid only for the season or period indicated

  • Subject to revocation for rule violations

Programs and Lessons

Participation in Club programs (lessons, youth programs, biathlon) may require:

  • Completion of registration and payment

  • Signed waivers (for participants and guardians of minors)

  • Appropriate skill level as indicated in program descriptions

  • Compliance with instructor directions

We reserve the right to cancel or modify programs due to weather, insufficient enrollment, or other circumstances. Refund policies for programs are communicated at registration.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and design — is owned by Golden Nordic Ski Club or used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.

Links to Third-Party Sites

Our website may link to external sites (e.g., Zone4, Square, sponsors). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these sites. Accessing them is at your own risk.

Changes to These Terms
