Jackrabbit Program: 6 - 9 years old
The Jackrabbit program (graduates of the Bunny program or children with the enthusiasm to learn) focuses on learning the basics of cross-country skiing in a fun and positive environment while developing agility, balance, and coordination on skis. Through the use of games and challenges, the youth will develop their cross-country skiing abilities.
There are 4 levels of the Jackrabbit program that are based on a combination of age and ability.
Jackrabbit Level 1 and 2 (6 and 7 years old)
Jackrabbit Level 3 and 4 (8 and 9 years old)
Prerequisite: Most Jackrabbits skiers have been in Bunnyrabbits for at least 2 seasons. However, with enthusiasm and some extra practice, new skiers are welcome to Jackrabbits!
The Goals of the Jackrabbit Program:
have fun
help develop a positive self-image
provide an opportunity to make ski-friends
develop ABC’s: Agility, Balance, Coordination and speed
encourage frequent cross-country skiing during the season
develop good technique habits through repeated practice
Parent Involvement - Coaches require a parent to ski along with the group to help out when needed.
Cost - $120 plus $21 CCBC/Nordiq Canada membership, $12 CCBC program fee, and taxes. Children who are the only skier in their family will select the $20 club membership for this age category. Entry to the Huckleberry Loppet is included in this fee.

Space - we have space for 8 participants in each group (but have been known to make exceptions, so check in with us!)
Cold weather policy - We will email families the night before or at least by 8 am the day of the program if we need to cancel due to adverse conditions. We consider temperature, windchill factor, and sunshine. Generally, our cut-off temperature is -15C. Sometimes, we just stay closer to the Chalet and come inside to warm up. Each season we usually cancel one or two sessions (not postponed) due to the cold.
