April 2025 Update
A Huge thanks to Columbia Basin Trust through the ReDi grant program for their support of the septic upgrade. The grant of $68,000, $2000 in Flush Fund donations and $30,000 in club funds is enough to complete the project. We plan the work for this summer.

About the Project
What is it? We need to upgrade the septic system at the Chalet.
Why? Our club now has almost twice as many members and visitors as it did when the Chalet was built in 2010. The higher use of our toilets requires the club to call for an expensive pumper truck several times per season, failing which we can experience odours, blockages and overflows.
What will be done? We have engaged a specialist engineer to design an upgrade or expansion of the septic system. In keeping with the club’s commitment to high environmental standards, the septic system at the Chalet has a biofilter which results in a very clean effluent.
How much will it cost? We have a grant for $7,700 to do the engineering design. Once the design is completed we will have a better ideal of costs, but we expect about $100,000.
Where will the money come from? We received a grant from the Golden Community Foundation for $7,700 to support the engineering work. The club maintains a reserve for capital projects, but we will be looking for grant funding to support some of the cost. We are also seeking donations from our members.
Thanks to all who contributed towards the new side-by-side!
Thanks to generous financial support from the Town of Golden/Columbia Basin Trust “ReDi” (resident directed) grant program and generous donations from our members, we will unveil our new Polaris side-by-side on the trails as soon as the snow permits.
The new machine will be a workhorse of our grooming operations, with the old side-by-side available as a back-up.
Yes, I want to donate!

Thank you!
We would like to thank everyone who has supported the Golden Nordic Ski Club over the years through sponsorships, prizes and promotions. With your help, we are able to continue offering great cross-country skiing experiences to our community members and those visiting our cross-country ski trails and facilities in Golden.
The Golden Nordic Club gratefully acknowledges that we work, live and play on the TRADITIONAL territory of the Ktunaxa people, which they share with the Secwepemc people and which is the home to the Métis Nation Columbia River Society.
