Bunnyrabbits

Ages 3-5 years old*** (3 year olds: we have space on Saturday mornings)

Join the program for an enthusiastic introduction to cross-country skiing for your youngster. Balls, hoops, short adventure trails, small hills and much more are all part of this program. Your young skier will learn balance, agility, and rhythm; the FUNdamentals to skiing.

***This is a parent participation class: one parent/guardian joins their child, on skis, to provide help with getting up, keeping warm, and staying engaged for the short session. Please no “strap on skis” and parent/guardians lead by example and enjoy the class with skis on, too.

The Goal of the Bunny Program is to:

  • Have fun

  • Help children develop a positive self-image

  • Provide children an opportunity to make ski-friends

  • Help develop essential motor skills

  • Help develop awareness and appreciation of our natural environment

  • Help guide parents in how to best help their young skiers develop

Cold Weather Cancellation is -12C to -15C (depending on weather variables such as windchill factor). Cancellations will be announced via email and social media the night before or by 8 am on the program day.
Usually every season there are one or two session cancelled due to cold weather. These sessions will not be made up at a later date.

Seasonal Youth Equipment Rental Program

ONLY AVAILABLE for those registered in the youth programs: Bunnyrabbits, Jackrabbits, or Track Attack.

The Golden Nordic Ski Club has a rental package (skis, boots, and poles) available for youth program participants. If your child is not in a youth program with our club, they do not qualify for this seasonal rental option.

There are a few options to chose from. Please read carefully.

The Take-Home Program - $80

There are only 30 spots for this option. These spots are for participants who want to take the equipment home and ski outside of their youth program sessions as well. They get to enjoy and take care of the club's rental equipment for the entire season. Upgrading sizes is possible anytime during the season. Pick up date & times will be emailed. Please sign up on Zone4 for this option. Online registration opens on October 15, 2024. Heads up: this option books up quickly!

The Leave-at-Chalet Program

Missed the first 30 spots? Or, prefer to rent only for when your child is in their program session with their coach? Please don't sign up here on Zone4. Please note that equipment may not be available in your child's size. Email the program coordinator at programccoordinator@goldennordicclub.ca to check availability and for further arrangements. Payment via e-transfer or in person with Chalet staff during opening hours. There are two options:

  • Jackrabbits and Track Attack participants: $80 for 12 sessions of 1.5 hours each and the Huckleberry Loppet (Feb 8 - 9, 2025).

  • Bunnyrabbits participants: $50 for 10 sessions of 1 hour each.

Renters in all programs will need to complete a youth program seasonal rental form in person that includes a credit card damage deposit.
