Biathlon
Biathlon is a sport that combines cross-country skiing and target shooting.
Golden Nordic hosted a biathlon demo day in February 2024 and learned how to use the EcoAims rifles and targets. The club then was offered to keep two sets to use, thanks to Biathlon Canada and Biathlon BC. In the spring 2024, 7 coaches took the Silver level training for leading biathlon sessions using EcoAims technology. In the summer 2024, coaches led demo events at a local school, at summer camps, and a community event.
EcoAims
The camera-based, optical rifles are connected to their targets with a computer. The advantage of using EcoAims over other traditional biathlon equipment include that they are safe, quiet, and waste-free. While the equipment is safe to use, it is treated with respect and same protocols apply to EcoAims as to other rifles.
Winter 2024-2025 Registration
Our biathlon coaches are offering biathlon-specific programs to our club members that include cross-country skiing (classic and/or skate) and target shooting using the club’s EcoAims. Participants are expected to be able to ski green runs (such as Beaver and Chickadee) comfortably.
Due to popular demand, the coaches will offer a new series of dates for another 4 weeks of youth biathlon. Registration for this will open on January 25 at 12 pm online through a link to our club’s Square payment system. See buttons below.
Fee $40 plus GST for 4 sessions PLUS $10 Annual Biathlon Canada membership PLUS $10 Annual Biathlon BC membership. Program participants will need to register for this $10 + $10 as Recreational Athlete membership here. You only need to pay for your Biathlon BC/Canada once per season.

If you missed the first session, you can still join and pay for the remaining sessions.
Youth ski rentals are available for $5 during this program use only.
